With the opening of Ssam, it seems as though every last corner of Berlin now has a Korean restaurant. But this isn’t just another Asian restaurant — it’s a Korean barbecue. Each of the wooden tables here features multiple grills with which guests can comfortably sizzle away to their heart’s content.
Meat isn’t the only thing guests can cook for themselves; vegetarians can order marinated vegetables and tofu to throw on, and fish lovers can satisfy their cravings with a seafood option. Just the dessert list is missing — typical for restaurants in Korea, explains the charming, English-speaking staff. And despite Ssam being fully booked on a Tuesday night, the atmosphere remains relaxed and comfortable. (fb)
